This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 362,599 Photographic Camera was patented in 1887 by its inventor Thomas H. Blair. This Victorian era box camera projected the image onto a glass photo plate at the back of the box. The invention relates to how the lens could move to adjust the focus of the image. It allowed the lens to move both forward/backwards and up/down giving much greater control over the artistic portrayal of the image on the glass.
