This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 158,957 Revolver (revolving firearms) was patented in 1875 by its inventor W. Mason. This revolver was patented while William Mason worked at Colt firearms and is an excellent example of the detailed design work he did with his gun creations. This particular patent related to an improvement in how the cylinder flipped out of the gun for reloading and other related enhancements.
