This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 233,235 Fire Extinguisher patented in 1880 by its inventor A. M. Granger. This patent for chemical or bottle breaking fire extinguishers uses an acid or other chemical that is broken and mixed when the extinguisher is used. Its focus was on the way the bottle of the chemical would break and how the glass would be contained within the fire extinguisher itself during and after use.
