This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 623,003 Automatic Machine Gun was patented in 1899 by its inventor F. M. Garland. This fascinating machine gun was designed with two barrels and operated in such a way that the firing of a round in one barrel triggered the mechanism to load a bullet in the other barrel. By doing so, each barrel had a cartridge inserted at the proper time to allow for rapid and continuous fire.
