This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 1,689,467 Grand Piano was patented in 1928 by its inventor Walter Weiser. Weiser's improvements to the Grand Piano design allowed for a smaller footprint for the piano while still delivering the big sound of a large piano. He accomplished this feat by designing the pianoforte case with a soundbox positioned beneath the string plate and also placing openings in the top sound board.
