This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 2,863,332 Hand Operated Mixer/Beater patented in 1958 by its inventor Mark K. Maynard. This patent made two improvements to hand mixers. First, it encapsulated all the gearing to ensure that no contaminants could get into the gearing when beating liquids. Second, it make the component parts easily removable and reassembled for ease of cleaning and storage.
