This patent offers many improvements to the diagnostic instrument - Otoscope. The first is offering a means of increasing illumination and the second is to offer increased magnification allowing for a much better view of the drum head of the ear. It was also proposed in the patent that this device be used by eye doctors as a means of viewing foreign bodies in the eye.
