This patent image was created by using U.S. Patent #US 908,465 Whiskey Still patented in 1909 by its inventor James F. Jett. This elegant fractional distillation design was and still is a very effective means of converting ingredients to liquors like whiskey. The patent art shows the apparatus that was designed by Jett from both an external view point and an interior view. What is interesting about this still is that it was designed to extract alcohol from the discards of beer making - a sort of early form of recycling waste.
